Bags were Born!

It's so fun to share my love of sewing with others. Last weekend's bag class was certainly no exception. I noticed a few wonderful things that stick with me. 1) The class was full and included two mother/daughter sets of classmates. I love sewing with my family, so that was super special to see right in my classroom. 2) Working from home during a pandemic hasn't afforded me many options to hang out with people in real life. Being able to see all their faces, their smiles and their questioning looks as they went through the pattern was delightful!

The Redwood tote is an approachable pattern, it has less bulk than many other patterns I make which is helpful for getting the hang of bag construction. But it does have a number of steps that can make it difficult to fully complete during the hours we have in class. However, a week later and I know for certain that 4 of the 6 bags made it to the finish line already. And the 2 I haven't seen yet were well on their way before class ended.

Here are some pictures from class and from their finished bags. Aren't they beautiful, can't wait to see what else these wonderful ladies create!

Super grateful to the class participants and for my partnership with Old Alley Quilt shop. More classes are coming!
