Pre-Cut Quick Bag

I love a quick sew! Nothing like the satisfaction of having something created in short order that is so useful. A few months back I was experimenting with little zipper bags with pre-cut 10 inch squares (I have a love affair with layer cakes, so I have plenty to pull from).  In that experiment I was kinda blown away by how fast the bag came together, and with very little cutting (my least favorite part) I knew this would be repeated. So this week when I wanted to create a bag for a special girl's birthday, that project popped in my head. I had a couple fat quarters of tula pink fabric that I thought would be perfect, I even fussy cut the fabric into two 10 inch squares for the exterior, and 2 10 inch squares for the lining.

My lighting isn't awesome in this picture, but I machine embroidered her name on the right side of the bag. I used SF101 to give body to the material before the embroidery process and used a medium tearaway under the stitching.

To give the bag structure, I used Soft and Stable from by Annie.  I really like how the fussy cut owls came out!

Happened to have some zipper tape on hand that went fantastic with the design. Also used my new table press to add the rivets for the handle, love how the metal adds style. The little butterflies inside are like a welcome little smile awaiting in the bag.
