Clydebank Tote

Sometimes a pattern just hits that sweet spot.  The Clydebank Tote was my first sign I might really enjoy bag making... I liked it so much that I made 4 of them.  I found the Clydebank via You Tube.  I often cycle through sewing videos in my sewing room while working on projects. You Tube suggested a video from Sara Lawson of Sew Sweetness and I loved it. Loved her approachable nature, loved the way she made it all look so easy.  She shared the Clydebank Tote as a free pattern and watching her facebook page explode with different versions was captivating (scroll candy) for me. I had purchased a "feature" fabric several years ago at the first Quilt Show I had ever visited.  As I looked at this bag pattern, I decided it was time to finally cut into it. I bought cork from Sara's website.

In this picture, I am "auditioning" the two colors of cork I bought with the feature fabric. And below is the first finished bag.

I had such fun adding purse feet to the bottom of the bag. Gotta say, I was pretty thrilled with how it turned out.

Here are the other versions...
